Jesus died because He declared that He was the Messiah, the Son of God, to the assembly of the Sanhedrin, to Caiaphas. That is what made the Jews think that Jesus should be killed and handed over to the Roman authorities.
But Jesus’ disciples came because they loved God, maybe they hoped that Jesus would not die, but Jesus’ death did not diminish their love for Jesus. And those who came to the tomb met the angel, and the angel said Why are you looking for Him who lives among the dead?
When the angel said this, their eyes opened.
Then they looked for a male disciple, and at first, the male disciple did not believe, even though Jesus had said so.
1 Corinthians 15:17
And if Christ has not been raised, then your belief is in vain and you are still living in your sins.
But because Jesus was resurrected, our belief is not in vain, and the resurrected Jesus will also pick us up in the clouds. That is one faith that we must have that I believe, Jesus is the Son of God, the Son of God who was born on earth, used to sweat helping his parents, then died on the cross, He who had done many miracles but willingly died on the cross. Because He had to fulfill the prophecy that the Son of Man would be handed over to an evil nation.
Romans 6:9-11
9 For we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has dominion over Him.
10 For the death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.
11 So you should consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Let us consider ourselves that we have died to sin and sin no longer has dominion over us, but we live to God, because Jesus has finished everything on the cross, died, rose, and defeated death.
1 Corinthians 15:26
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
And Jesus has defeated death because Jesus has risen from the dead, and whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life
In this Easter, we rejoice because death has been defeated, and the devil no longer has power over us.
