Rev. Jacob B. Sumbayak

The first law is to love God, and the second is to love others. That is the word of God, so that we do not fall into sin and we continue to work on salvation.

The Pharisee knew that the service of burnt offerings and sacrifices was far below the two laws.

Even someone who had cast out demons was said to me not to know you, because he did not know God.

Do not violate this first and main law, we will surely die.

Praise God because the Lord Jesus loves us, so when we sin, we have the opportunity to repent according to 1 John 1:9, the condition is that we confess our sins.

This is the secret, like Adam and Eve, if violated will surely die. If the first law is violated, which is to love God with all your heart, then it will be difficult to do the other laws, and the other laws will be heavy. Only our minds should not be this and that; everything will be heavy. We will only wonder why, but doing it becomes heavy because we do not obey the first law, which is to love God.

1 John 5:3-4 AMP

[3] For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey].

[4] For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].

There are challenges. When it says to put to death the flesh, we must pay a price, but God says we can do those commandments, because we have faith in Jesus Christ. If we believe in Jesus, then the first thing to do is to love God with all our heart, all our mind, and all our strength; then all the commandments will not be hard, and that is the word of God; whoever does it will experience it.

But if you struggle every day and lose, then you don’t actually believe in Jesus, even though you have accepted Jesus.

But if you truly accept Jesus, then the first commandment is to love the Lord God with all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. People like that will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, and the devil will try to keep us away from God by trying to deceive us like Adam and Eve, deceiving us through our minds, our strength, and our hearts.

People who believe in Jesus must say I surrender my heart completely to God, my strength to God, and my mind completely to God. That strength can be about physical, wealth, or skills. Many people become arrogant because they have great physical strength or great skills.

Does my deepest soul love God, or is there another person who is more valuable than God, or is there more wealth than God?

If we want to enter Heaven, then we love God with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul, and all our strength, because the devil will try to destroy us from those four aspects.
