Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

We long for His coming, which means we believe in the rapture, because if we die, we don’t long for His coming, but we long for His coming because we long for being raptured together with God.

That the Lord Jesus wants to come is faith, and since the beginning of the history of the Church, this has been taught by the Apostles. the Apostles taught this to the disciples.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 ESV

12 and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, 13 so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

The Thessalonians were taught at the beginning of the Church, but the teaching was still that Jesus would come in the clouds. And what will keep me remembering that Jesus is my goal? That is, I await the second coming of the Lord Jesus in the clouds.

If I do not have certainty about the coming of Jesus in the clouds, then I will not have a good drive. If I am sure about the coming of the Lord, then I will prepare my life even more. If the Lord will still come in a hundred years, then I will be lacking and I will chase after others, and according to the Word of God, there are only two things to chase, namely Heaven or the world, or one is hell, the other is Heaven.

Chasing hell or Heaven?

If we do not prepare ourselves for Heaven, then we are preparing ourselves for hell.

The letters of the Apostles at the beginning of the Church are waiting for the coming of the Lord, if Revelation says it will be when we are raptured. But before that, we await the coming of the Lord, because the Lord will come. That must be in our hearts, we must be honest, is my way of life waiting for God? Even though I do business or work, is my way of life a way of life that waits for God?

If the Word of God says to wait for God, then later we will learn how to wait for a good God, but now pay attention to how I live, so that if we experience pressure, then all of that is because God allows it so that we are stronger in waiting for God.

We believe that the Lord Jesus will come so that we continue to prepare ourselves, how to know, when the Lord Jesus comes in a minute, am I ready?

So with the attitude of waiting for God, we will be diligent, work hard, improve our behavior, go on a voyage, because I am preparing myself.
