The sermon on Sunday Service, August 26, 2018 was delivered by Rev. Daniel Judah Sumbayak.
We have seen many miracles took place in our ministry. It is not because of our might but it happened because God has planned it, even before the foundation of this world. We must be sure that we have done God’s plans and not ours, and that we live in God’s plans every day. So we won’t be enthusiastic only for our ministry but for every other thing planned by God.
Going To Battle Every Day Must Become Our Joyfulness
Remember that we are in warfare every day, but we must do it in joyfulness and a great spirit. We are very great, very strong, a great army of God at the end times. Called to destroy the strength of the darkness.
Let us see the example of the army of Josaphat. As the army of God, we must have joyfulness facing warfare every day, even when problems come up.
1 Samuel 17:46-47 (NKJV) “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
Joshua 6:20 (NKJV) “So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.”
David had a great spirit and had no fear to fight Goliath. He wasn’t afraid at all. We must have the same spirit. Defeating God’s enemies must be done in joyfulness. Never be afraid, never become weak, but say that we are the warriors. We are the conquerors. Satan will always try to make us weak, hopeless and become nobody.
If we feel weak we turn out not to be good soldiers. We mustn’t be weak. Never doubt to defeat Goliath. We must have a great spirit and strength to defeat Satan every day as our joyfulness. The anger of God towards Satan must become ours.
Don’t feel weak and incapable to war and live as a warrior. Make sure to become the winner, the conquerors. Have a strong spirit to defeat your enemies.
See yourself as a great warrior of God that is already equipped with the weapons of God. We must arise every day and slaughter our enemies. As a warrior of God, we mustn’t loose and get defeated.
Deuteronomy 11:24-25 (NKJV) Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand against you; the Lord your God will put the dread of you and the fear of you upon all the land where you tread, just as He has said to you.
Deuteronomy 20:1-4 (NKJV) “When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’
We are not trying to motivate ourselves but it is the fact that we are the winner. Don’t become pessimistic toward your life. The warrior of God is unbeatable. Victory is our part as the believers. Even Jesus said that if we cast out the mountain, it would cast out as long as we really believe.
Don’t Become a Soldier for Your Own selves But for God
And most of the time we are busy defending our dreams and our pride. On the other hand, we must take war for the sake of God’s name. Not ours. The army of God must surrender his life totally to God. Our uniform must be God’s uniform. Oftentimes we want to war using our own weapons, our own ways, and methods. The warriors of God must be very disciplined in their lives.
Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Don’t become a soldier for your own selves but for God. Not with your own ways and will. Let us defend the Kingdom of God. Oftentimes we want to do everything for the sake of our pride and ourselves. Don’t spend your whole time only to defend yourselves, being a soldier for your own selves. Your own willing becomes your God. Don’t be wicked to the Lord. Defend the Lord and not yours. Don’t spend your time defending yourselves.
Don’t become the servant and slave to yourselves. Being God’s warrior we must submit our whole life to God and being disciplined and obedient. We must be the most disciplined soldiers in the world, but also with joyfulness.
As a God’s soldier must glorify the Lord all the time. Just the same as the soldiers of Israel who were full of praise and worship. The condition is we must have a good relationship with the Lord in prayer and praising and worship.
We are the warriors. Oftentimes we feel we are nothing. No!! We are very strong, a great army of God at the end times, called to destroy the strength of the darkness. God has been waiting for us to live in this time.
