Praise the Lord, Prayer for the Nation took place on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Ministry of Social Services, Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta. Around 9.00 AM the committee has gathered to prepare this event with enthusiasm. At 10.00 AM the invited guests have already arrived, from National Family Planning Coordinating Board (BKKBN) and National Civil Service Agency (BKN). Followed then from UKI Hospital, and Indonesian National Army (TNI AD).
The event began exactly at 11.00 AM by singing “Indonesia Raya”. After singing anthem song, the congregations were invited to read the text of the Youth Pledge together. Opening speech was delivered by Mrs. Juena Sitepu, “Diversity is the wealth of our nation. When all go harmonious then everything will go well. The theme of today’s event of Prayer for the Nation, with this event is expected to create peace and prosperity for the community”. This was conveyed by the Mrs. Juena, who is also the chairwoman of Christian Service Foundation (BPUK) at the Ministry of Social Services.
The sub theme for this event was taken from Jeremiah 29: 7, And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. Secretary General of Ministry of Social Services Mr. Harry Z. Soeratin also gave the opening speech. He reminded us that we can improve better performance. He also told all of us to preserve the unity in this nation. As an expression of gratitude for the presence of the Secretary General, a student choir from STKS performed a song entitled “Betapa Kita Tidak Bersyukur Bertanah Air Kaya dan Makmur”.
Series of opening crusade have been completed and it was the time we would start the service, opened by His servant Ms. Salma. Then the worship leader asked the congregations to praise God with a song “Hormat Bagi Allah Bapa”. Votum greeting was from Psalm 121:2-3 which states: My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not let your legs waver, Your guards will not sleep. Surely not sleeping and not sleeping the Guardians of Israel.
Afterwards, the worship leader invited the congregations to rejoice and sing a song “Semua Bunga Ikut Bernyanyi”. Then continued to pray for the nation. They sang a worship song “Syukur Untuk Setiap Rencana-Mu”.
The prayers were raised by: 1. Mrs. Sri Mikha Karo Karo – Ministry of Social Services 2. Mrs. Rev. Maranatha, STh – UKI Hospital 3. Mrs. Theresia Henrietta Wolff – Ministry of Communication & Informatics 4. Mrs. Endang Sri Waryanti – National Family Planning Coordinating Board (BKKBN).
In these prayers we were so grateful for the salvation that God has given to the Indonesian people. Prayed for the president, vice president and also all governors, regents, sub-district heads, village heads and community units. Prayed for the leadership of the Ministry of Social Services. Also prayed for House of Representatives and People’s Consultative Assembly. Prayed for the nation and country, asked forgiveness for often neglecting the Word of God. Requested for God’s blessing for all the children of the nation. And it was closed by praying the Lord’s prayer (our Father prayer).
A film of KPPI (Praise and Divine Healing Crusade) was aired, presented by Rev. Jacob Sumbayak. “Love God with all your heart, more than anything else. Select Jesus, do not be late, do not get left behind, choose your way of life”. Thereafter, a testimony of Horas who was healed from hydrocephalus disease. Finished airing the testimony, the worship leader then asked the congregations to continue to believe in God and sang the song “Apapun yang Terjadi”.
The Word of God was delivered by Rev. Gideon Tri Rekso from Jangkar Iman (a ministry for professionals and employees). The Word from Ephesians 1: 4, Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. One can only plan his or her way of life as long as he or she lives. But God has the best design for a human. Why we are set by God in this nation, as God designed us to be holy and blameless before Him. God wants us to support this nation through our prayers.
Jeremiah 29: 7, And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. Lord Jesus has given His life for us, and this is an opportunity for us to love and love God sincerely. God’s servant bid the congregations to truly love God, to be blessings and light wherever God place them. And led in the prayer of new birth. Almost all the congregations rose and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Rev. Timotius Dewanto then continued God’s Word, it was from Mark 9:14-29 (a boy who was healed) Jesus cast out the spirit of a dumb child. “Apapun yang Terjadi” was being sung again and the servant of God invited the sick to come forward to be prayed for. Many sick souls came forward, they wanted to be prayed for. Not only those who were sick, but also those who had troubles and burdens were bid to come to the front. There were 18 sick people. The healing prayer by Rev. Gideon, Rev. Timotius and, Rev. Maruli from Jangkar Iman.
God’s servants began to pray and the power of miracles were occurring. Mrs. Yusnita had headache and had been taken to the doctor as well. Praise God her headache healed. A woman who suffered from high blood pressure and heart disease, Praise God, after being prayed, she was no longer sick and has already been recovered. Mrs. Merry Sihombing came with thickening of the skin on the neck and made her head dizzy. Praise God her neck was shaken and not dizzy anymore. She has been healed by Lord Jesus.
Before closing the crusade, Rev. Maruli invited them to give themselves to serving the Lord. There were 12 souls who gave themselves to serve the Lord. The offerings were circulated with the praise “Selamat di Dalam Tuhan”. Later on, completed with praise “Maka Jiwaku pun Memuji-Mu” and the closing prayer by Rev. Gideon.
More than 200 souls born again. 18 sick and healed 3. God’s servant challenge 12. Total attendance 300 souls.
